Let’s Make Batts

Description

"Begin at the beginning and carry on until you come to the end.” In this case, we will start with hand cards and practice with several fibers. We will repeat this process with combs, making our own combed top, which is always a dream to spin! And finally we will move on to the workhorse of the fiber artist, the drum carder. We will make lovely carded batts with one fiber, then two fiber blends and talk about the whys and wherefores of the fibers we choose to mix and match. At that point, we can move into more adventurous territory, adding several fibers, leaving some locks mostly intact, throwing in some noil, sari silk, and whatever else we feel like trying!
